Nigeria Customs Service & NDLEA

Shipments entering Nigeria are subject to applicable Nigerian laws and regulatory requirements. The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) administers customs requirements and enforces relevant import restrictions and prohibitions. The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) enforces Nigerian laws relating to illicit narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances. If goods are prohibited, restricted or suspected of violating applicable laws, the relevant authorities may inspect, detain, seize or confiscate them and may take further action as permitted by law. Customers are responsible for checking the requirements applicable to their goods.

Please consult these official websites for current information about customs restrictions, prohibited goods and drug-control requirements. Contact the relevant authority if you need clarification about a specific item.

5

What Happens If Prohibited Items Are Discovered?

If Josh Cargo discovers, or has reasonable grounds to suspect, that a shipment contains prohibited, undeclared or unlawfully transported goods, we may take appropriate action in accordance with applicable law and our shipping terms. This may include refusing the shipment, requesting further information, suspending transportation, notifying the relevant carrier or authority where required or appropriate, and cooperating with lawful inspections or investigations. Any resulting delay, seizure, penalty or additional cost will be handled in accordance with applicable law, the circumstances of the shipment and the relevant contractual terms.

Please provide an accurate description of the item, its contents and its intended use so that we can advise whether further checks are required.
